Proper aftercare is the key to a smooth, complication-free healing process

Clean Twice Daily
Spray sterile saline solution on both sides of each piercing, morning and evening. Saline spray is available for purchase in our store.

Don't Touch or Twist
Avoid touching the earrings with unwashed hands. Never twist or rotate the jewelry — this disrupts healing and introduces bacteria.

Protect During Activities
Keep hair products, shampoo, and sunscreen away from the piercing area. Cover ears during swimming for the first 4–6 weeks.

Follow Up With Us
Schedule a downsize at 4–6 weeks. We'll assess healing and let you know if it's safe to change jewelry.

What age can my baby's ears be pierced?
We pierce babies from 6 months old. By then your baby has begun their vaccination schedule and can hold their head steady — both matter for a safe, precise piercing. There's no upper limit: we pierce babies, toddlers, kids, and teens, each with an age-appropriate approach.
Do you use a piercing gun?
Never. Every piercing at The Piercings Club is done with a single-use, sterile needle — opened in front of you and disposed of after your child's appointment. Piercing guns can't be fully sterilized and use blunt force; needles are gentler, more precise, and heal better. We are the only studio in San Diego where babies are pierced with a needle by a specialist.
How much does baby ear piercing cost?
$160 for a pair of baby ear lobes (6 months–4 years), with implant-grade jewelry included — no surprise jewelry charges at checkout. Kids ages 5–10 are $120 a pair, and teens 11+ start at $50. No deposit is required to book.
Who will pierce my baby's ears?
Only our trained baby specialists pierce children under 5 — it's a skill we treat as its own discipline, not something every piercer does. You'll meet your specialist before anything happens, and every question gets answered first.
When can I bring my baby in?
Baby appointments run Monday 9am–6pm and Tuesday 11am–6pm at Bay Park, and Thursday–Sunday mornings, 9–11am, at our La Jolla studio — quiet early hours reserved for little ones, before the studio gets busy.
What jewelry goes in a baby's first piercing?
A basic implant-grade, nickel-safe titanium stud with a snug flat back — included in the price. Upgrade pieces start at $35, and if you'd like solid 14k gold for baby's first earrings, we stock it in-studio.
Can both ears be pierced at the same time?
We pierce one ear at a time, always — it's how our specialists keep every placement precise and every baby calm. The second piercing takes only a moment, and we pause for a comfort break whenever your baby needs one. The whole appointment is gentle, unhurried, and over sooner than most parents expect.
How long does healing take?
Ear lobes typically heal in 6–8 weeks. You'll leave with a simple aftercare routine, and when it's time to shorten the post so the piercing heals flush — usually 4–8 weeks in — a downsize or jewelry change is a flat $15 at either studio.
Do I need a deposit?
No — piercing appointments never require a deposit, baby appointments included. Book online in two minutes, and if the morning doesn't go to plan, just let us know and we'll reschedule. (Deposits apply only to ear curation sessions and special jewelry orders.)
